The Suffering is a psychological horror video game where the player controls Torque, a death row inmate who escapes prison after a mysterious earthquake unleashes monstrous creatures. The game combines third-person shooting with survival horror elements, forcing players to confront not only grotesque creatures but also Torque's own inner demons and a dark past.
